There are many talented photographers, and choosing the right one should be about more than comparing packages.
At Bohemian Visions, every session begins with the individual client.
We do not believe boudoir should look the same on everyone. Your personality, comfort level, personal style, story, wardrobe, music, expressions, and what you want to discover or celebrate about yourself all help shape the experience we create.
Some clients want something romantic and soft. Others want bold, dramatic, sensual, playful, artistic, or completely unexpected.
Our job is not to turn you into someone else for the camera.
Our job is to create an environment where you can explore another side of yourself and then turn that experience into art that still feels unmistakably like you.
Every experience is fully guided and includes professional hair and makeup, access to our curated Client Closet, personalized posing and expression coaching, multiple studio environments, professional retouching, and a private same-day reveal.
You do not need to arrive knowing how to pose, how to look sexy, or even exactly what you want.
We help you discover that together.
That depends on what you are looking for.
If your primary goal is simply to find the least expensive way to have boudoir photographs taken, Bohemian Visions may not be the right fit for you. There are talented photographers serving many different budgets and needs.
Our experience is designed for clients who place a high value on artistry, personalization, privacy, professional guidance, service, and the experience itself.
At Bohemian Visions, you are not simply paying someone to take photographs of you. Your session is intentionally curated around who you are, how you want to feel, and what you want your finished artwork to represent.
Professional hair and makeup, access to our curated Client Closet, personalized session planning, expert posing and expression guidance, professional retouching, your private reveal, and your selected images are all part of the experience.
But the value goes beyond a checklist of what is included.
For many of our clients, this is an opportunity to step outside of everyday responsibilities, put themselves at the center of the experience, and create something meaningful from the person they are today.
The photographs are the finished artwork.
The experience of creating them is part of what you are investing in.
To reserve your portrait experience, a minimum of $500 is required to secure your session date. Clients may choose to make larger payments at the time of booking and divide the remaining balance into convenient installments.
All balances must be paid in full at least two weeks prior to the scheduled session date to maintain the reservation.
Your initial investment of $3,499 secures your reserved session date and includes:
If you need to reschedule, we offer one complimentary date change within 6 months of your original booking with a minimum 30-day notice.
Cancellations made within 30 days of your session are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
Same-day cancellations or no-shows will result in the forfeiture of all payments made.
Absolutely.
All Bohemian Visions boudoir sessions take place at our private studio in Richmond, Virginia, but you do not have to live in Richmond to have the experience.
We welcome clients who travel from outside the Richmond area and from out of state.
Because professional hair and makeup are already included and your session is carefully planned in advance, much of the experience is taken care of before you arrive.
If you are traveling, let us know during your consultation so we can consider your travel plans when discussing scheduling and help you understand what to expect on session day.
Many clients choose to turn the experience into part of a Richmond getaway.
If you have been thinking, “I wish you were closer,” distance does not necessarily have to mean no.
Let’s talk about what making the trip could look like.
Your privacy and security are extremely important to us. Your final images are delivered through a secure online gallery that can only be accessed using your private link. Only those you choose to share the link with will have access to your photographs.
Absolutely.
Boudoir can be an incredibly personal anniversary gift because you are not simply giving your partner another object. You are creating something intimate, artistic, and uniquely connected to your relationship.
Some clients keep the entire experience a surprise. Others involve their partner in parts of the planning while keeping the final photographs or album secret.
We can help you plan your session around your anniversary and discuss timing for your photographs, album, or other finished artwork.
And although the finished artwork may be a gift for your partner, the experience itself is still designed around you.
It can be a beautiful way to celebrate a relationship that has evolved over many years.
Long relationships are built through ordinary life: careers, families, responsibilities, changes, challenges, laughter, routines, and choosing each other again and again.
A boudoir experience can create something completely outside of that routine.
It can be playful. Unexpected. Intimate. Artistic. And deeply personal.
For some clients, the photographs become a reminder that underneath everything two people have built together, they are still partners, still lovers, and still capable of surprising one another.
There is no rule saying boudoir belongs only at the beginning of a relationship.
Sometimes celebrating 20 or 25 years together makes the experience even more meaningful.
You do not need to know how.
In fact, trying too hard to “look sexy” is often exactly what makes people feel uncomfortable in front of a camera.
We will guide you through expressions just as carefully as we guide you through posing.
Depending on the mood we are creating, that might mean changing where you look, how you breathe, the position of your lips, the angle of your face, your movement, or simply helping you relax enough to stop thinking about the camera.
And sexy does not have one expression.
It can be playful, powerful, romantic, mysterious, soft, confident, vulnerable, joyful, or completely understated.
The goal is not to teach you how to perform someone else’s version of sexy.
It is to find what feels authentic to you.
No.
Confidence is not an admission requirement.
You can be excited and nervous at the same time. You can want the experience and still wonder whether you can actually do it.
Many first-time clients arrive with some uncertainty because they are stepping outside of their normal comfort zone.
That is why the experience is guided from beginning to end.
You do not have to walk through the door already feeling like the most confident version of yourself.
Come as you are.
We will take it from there.
You’re not alone. Many clients share the same concerns before their session. I encourage you to ask yourself why you want this experience in the first place. Chances are, it’s about seeing yourself differently, not striving for perfection.
Throughout your session, I’ll guide you into flattering poses and use lighting to naturally deemphasize areas you’re less confident about. My editing philosophy is simple: if it’s temporary, I’ll remove it. If it’s a permanent part of who you are, I believe it should remain, although many concerns can be minimized or covered with professional makeup.
My goal isn’t to change who you are. It’s to help you see yourself with confidence, beauty, and authenticity.
No. There is no expiration date on being photographed, feeling beautiful, exploring your sensuality, or creating art from who you are today.
We often hear some version of, “I wish I had done this when I was younger,” or “I want to do this while I still can.”
But you do not need to compete with a younger version of yourself.
You have lived. You have changed. You have learned things. Your body may have changed. Your relationship with yourself may have changed too.
That does not make you less worthy of being photographed.
In fact, many clients reach a point in life where they are finally less interested in meeting everyone else’s expectations and more interested in experiencing themselves as they are.
Your session is designed around the person you are today, not the person you were 10, 20, or 30 years ago.
You are not too old.
And you have not missed your moment.
You do not need to lose weight before your session.
If you have personal health or fitness goals that matter to you, those decisions are yours. But you do not need to reach a particular number on the scale before you are worthy of being photographed.
One of the easiest traps to fall into is moving the finish line:
“I’ll do it after I lose 10 pounds.”
“After I get back into shape.”
“After I feel more confident.”
And sometimes “after” quietly becomes years.
Our job is to photograph the body you bring into the studio with intention and skill. I use posing, lighting, wardrobe, composition, and direction to create flattering portraits while keeping you recognizable as yourself.
You do not need to become a different version of yourself before you walk through our doors.
Then you will be in very good company.
Most of our clients are not professional models, and many arrive telling us they feel awkward in photographs, never know what to do, or rarely like pictures of themselves.
You are not expected to know how to photograph yourself.
That is our responsibility.
Throughout your session, I guide your body positioning, hands, movement, posture, angles, and expressions. Professional lighting and thoughtful composition are used intentionally to photograph you in a way that is flattering while still looking like you.
You do not need to arrive “photogenic.”
You simply need to arrive willing to be guided.
