Frequently Asked Questions About Your Boudoir Experience

Cost

At Bohemian Visions, you’re investing in more than beautiful photographs. You’re investing in a luxury, fully guided experience designed to help you feel confident, comfortable, and truly seen. Every session includes professional hair and makeup, expert posing and expression coaching, access to our curated Client Closet, over a dozen unique studio sets, and a private same-day reveal. From the moment you walk through our doors to the day you receive your artwork, every detail is thoughtfully curated to create an unforgettable experience and timeless portraits you’ll treasure for years to come.

  • To reserve your photoshoot, an investment of $3,499 is required to book.
  • Collections are customizable to fit the clients’ needs and requirements.

To reserve your portrait experience, a minimum of $500 is required to secure your session date. Clients may choose to make larger payments at the time of booking and divide the remaining balance into convenient installments.

All balances must be paid in full at least two weeks prior to the scheduled session date to maintain the reservation.

Your initial investment of $3,499 secures your reserved session date and includes:

  • Professional hair and makeup artistry
  • Full access to our exclusive client wardrobe
  • Personalized coaching and guided posing throughout your shoot
  • 15 expertly retouched digital images
  • Many do. Once they see their finished portraits during their reveal appointment, they simply don’t want to leave their favorite images behind because the experience and artwork exceed their expectations.

  • If you are purchasing a collection for someone else we only require them to complete a consultation call and complete the preshoot questionaire so we can plan their session and they have an amazing experience.

Preparation

  • Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring one friend or support person to your session. We ask that you limit it to one guest so we can maintain a relaxed, private atmosphere and keep the focus on you throughout your experience.
  • Lingerie is completely optional. Wear whatever makes you feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable. Many clients choose dresses, oversized sweaters, button-down shirts, bodysuits, or even tasteful implied nude portraits. You’ll also have access to our curated Client Closet, which features a variety of luxury robes, gowns, and statement pieces to complement your session.
  • There is no need to deviate from your usual body and skincare routine. Do what you need to do in order to feel your best. We recommend drinking plenty of water and wearing a moisturizer to help give your skin a radiant glow. I highly recommend doing any agressive skin routine like a chemical peel do it a month prior minimum.
  • No need to deviate from your usual hair care routine. Whatever is going to make you feel your best! We highly recommend having day-old hair in order to style it better, but it’s up to you! If you are wearing a wig ensure it’s human hair so it can be styled. Please let us know if you will be wearing extensions.
  • Yes, you can bring whatever you want to your session as long as it does not cause bodily harm, injury, or threaten the safety of us. Bring as many props as you want, and we can figure out how to work it into your session. Please no weapons or firearms.
  • Hair & Makeup is already included in the service and specialize in all hair types and skin tones. It’s a part of the total luxury experience. 
  • Yes you can come to the session with your hair and makeup done or bring your own glam team. The price of the retainer will not change.
  • Boudoir sessions take place at our private luxury studio in Richmond, Virginia. Bohemian Visions Studio & Gallery features over 12 beautifully designed sets, offering a variety of styles and aesthetics to create a personalized experience. From elegant and romantic to bold and dramatic, we’ll help you choose the perfect settings to bring your vision to life. 

 

  • You can bring your entire closet the more the merrier. We recommend bringing a wide variety to capture your experience. 
  • While we understand you may be a bit nervous, we ask that you do not drink or consume any other type of substance. Due to an increased risk of safety and liability, we want you to be fully aware and coherent during your session. If you’re nervous, we’re there to help create an environment that is comfortable and helps you radiate confidence.
  • Please do not come to your session under the influence it will result in your session being cancelled without a refund.

Products & Turnaround

  • The corresponding digitals come with any collection you purchase. We do offer customizable Digital Only packages.
  • Yes, you are free to create whatever you want with your digital files as long as it isn’t used for commercial use. Photos used for commercial use such as Only Fans requires written permission and a separate cost associated with copyright use. Third Party use is strictly prohibited.
  • Unfortunately No. Your boudoir session will be done at our Richmond Studio.
  • Yes, we do!! If you are a current client on a payment plan, you can have $150 per person deducted from your total balance.
  • For past clients, you can receive  print credits from your previous session.
  • In order to qualify the person must book and pay their fee.
  • There is no limit to how many people you refer. Ask how you can qualify for a free session with a complimentary album.
  • Yes! We do a viewing and ordering session, you can purchase additional photos within a 6-month period.
  • If you want all of your photos, the cost is around $12,999 and your album will automatically be categorized into our premium “Bombshell Collection.”
  • Short answer yes and no. Commercial photography is a completely separate entity, which is something we do offer but the pricing is different due to licensing and copyright. Connect with us directly to learn more.
  • If you are an Only Fans/ or Adult Content Creator we provide written consent to maximize your session and future repeat sessions.
  • Give us a call to discuss options and packages for reoccuring content.
  • We do photograph clients for Only Fans but in falls in line with commercial photography and requires written permission since money will be from the photos. 
  • We do offer a subscription based service if you are interested in recurring services please call or text we can build something that works with your budget. 
  • Short answer no, RAW files are the intellectual property of Bohemian Visions. We do not give the RAW files to clients. 
 
  • Your professionally edited digital images are typically delivered within 2 weeks of your reveal appointment. If you order a custom album or wall art, production and delivery generally take 6 to 8 weeks, as each piece is handcrafted specifically for you. They will be delivered discreetly to your home.
  • We offer a curated collection of luxury heirloom products designed to preserve your portraits for years to come. Choose from handcrafted albums, museum-quality wall art, fine art prints, acrylic displays, metal prints, canvas collections, and keepsake boxes. Every piece is professionally crafted using premium materials, transforming your portraits into timeless artwork you’ll be proud to display and cherish for generations.

Scheduling

  • We can schedule as far out as six months. We don’t do further because things can change unexpectedly.
  • We will work with you in getting you scheduled, if you are absolutely certain you are ready to book your session.
  • We highly recommend a minimum of 4 weeks. But we can do it sooner upon request pending availabilities. Please let us know and we will accommodate as best as we can
  • Reason is it will give you time to shop for lingerie, clothes, get a facial, your nails and pedicure done and if you need your haircut, dyed, or extensions installed. Some cases a massage.
  • On average our clients book their session 4 weeks or longer in advance so they can take their time getting everything together. We recommend not rushing and run the risk of forgetting something. 
  • We highly recommend scheduling your bridal boudoir session at least 3 to 4 months before your wedding. This allows plenty of time for your session, editing, and the production of your custom album, ensuring it arrives well before your big day. The earlier you book, the more flexibility you’ll have with scheduling and the less stress you’ll experience as your wedding approaches.
  • Your luxury boudoir experience typically lasts approximately 4.5 hours. This includes professional hair and makeup, your fully guided photoshoot, and your private same-day reveal appointment, where you’ll view your images and select your favorites. We encourage you to set aside the entire experience so you can relax, enjoy the moment, and never feel rushed.
  • We highly recommend scheduling your maternity boudoir session toward the end of your second trimester or the beginning of your third trimester. This is typically when your beautiful baby bump is well-defined, but before you begin feeling too swollen or uncomfortable. We do not recommend waiting until the weeks just before your due date, as it can make your session more physically demanding and limit scheduling flexibility.
  • Yes, however, we ask that you only bring only one person with you. This person should be there to support you and may be asked to leave if they are interfering with your session. This day is about you, and we want to make sure that you’re getting the attention that you deserve.

  • If you need to reschedule, we offer one complimentary date change within 6 months of your original booking with a minimum 30-day notice.

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of your session are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

  • Same-day cancellations or no-shows will result in the forfeiture of all payments made.

  • No the the studio is not available for 3rd party use (Meaning photographer not affiliated with Bohemian Visions cannot rent the space).

Privacy, Security & Discretion

  • Your session will be photographed by Marie Malvoisin, owner and lead photographer of Bohemian Visions Studio & Gallery. Professional hair and makeup are provided by our experienced all-female beauty team, ensuring you feel comfortable, confident, and cared for throughout your luxury experience.
  • Many of the images you see on our website and social media are shared with the enthusiastic permission of our clients, who want to celebrate their experience and inspire others.
  • Your privacy is our highest priority. We will never share your images without your written permission. If you choose to allow us to use your photographs for our portfolio, website, or social media, you will first sign an image release specifying your preferences.
  • We also comply with the community guidelines of each social media platform, which means images shared publicly must meet their content policies.
  • Even if you sign an image release, you may revoke or modify your consent at any time. We want you to feel completely comfortable, confident, and in control of how your images are shared.

  • Your privacy and security are extremely important to us. Your final images are delivered through a secure online gallery that can only be accessed using your private link. Only those you choose to share the link with will have access to your photographs.

  • We take every reasonable measure to ensure your images are stored and delivered securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the entire experience.
  • Absolutely. If you choose to sign an image release, you are welcome to select the specific images you’re comfortable sharing. Simply let us know your preferences, and we’ll honor them. Our goal is to give you complete peace of mind and ensure you always feel comfortable with how your photographs are used.

Who do you photograph?

  • Yes Absolutely! We shoot all demographics of couples, no matter what you identify as. We welcome everyone.
  • You can also do a Best Friend Boudoir or Bridal Party Session. Give us a call, text, or email to inquire. I highly recommend scheduling a consult we have special group packages.
  • Absolutely!!! We provide male boudoir services. 
  • Yes! It does not matter how you identify, we want you to feel your best. Our goal is to create an environment that is sexy and sensual to make you feel beautiful/handsome.   • Yes, we do, but with some strict boundaries and guidelines. 
  • We love pushing the envelope with clients who want to venture into erotica, but we have some house rules that must be strictly adhered to. 
  • No bodily fluids. This includes blood, saliva, seminal fluids, and vaginal secretions. It’s pretty simple why. We don’t want to raise the cost for upholstery cleaning and replacing furniture. 
  • No actual penetration of any opening. None. There will be simulations but no actual penetration of anything.  
  •  Yes we do. We do not discriminate on the couple demographic. 

Self-Doubt, Body Image & Posing

  • Not at all! Most of our clients have never been professionally photographed before. I’ll guide you through every pose, facial expression, and movement throughout your session, so you’ll never have to wonder what to do. Just come with an open mind, trust the process, and we’ll have an amazing time creating beautiful images together.

  • You’re not alone. Many clients share the same concerns before their session. I encourage you to ask yourself why you want this experience in the first place. Chances are, it’s about seeing yourself differently, not striving for perfection.

    Throughout your session, I’ll guide you into flattering poses and use lighting to naturally deemphasize areas you’re less confident about. My editing philosophy is simple: if it’s temporary, I’ll remove it. If it’s a permanent part of who you are, I believe it should remain, although many concerns can be minimized or covered with professional makeup.

    My goal isn’t to change who you are. It’s to help you see yourself with confidence, beauty, and authenticity.

  • Yes, every image receives professional color correction and light retouching. My goal is to enhance your portraits while keeping you looking like you. I don’t believe in excessive Photoshop or changing your body. Instead, I use flattering lighting, expert posing, and minimal retouching to create beautiful, authentic images you’ll love.
  • Absolutely. Boudoir is for every body, every age, and every stage of life. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, reclaiming your confidence, or simply wanting to see yourself in a new light, your session is designed to highlight your unique beauty. Through expert posing, flattering lighting, and a personalized experience, we’ll create images that make you feel confident, beautiful, and authentically you.
  • It’s completely normal to feel nervous before your session, but this is also one of the most common things we hear after the reveal: “I can’t believe that’s me!” “I’m so Pretty!!!” Marie will guide you through every pose, expression, and movement, so you never have to worry about knowing what to do. Professional lighting, expert posing, and thoughtful direction are all designed to flatter you and help you see yourself in a new light. Our goal isn’t to change who you are—it’s to show you just how beautiful you’ve been all along.
