They have a country estate, but sometimes it is simply too far away. So tucked inside the city is a smaller, more intimate refuge. A place to escape work, family, expectation and obligation. Somewhere to read in solitude, disappear into art, pour a drink, take a long bath and surround themselves with the things they love.
That is the world Bohemian Visions was created to evoke.
Housed inside a historic Richmond building dating to 1900, the studio was intentionally imagined as a Southern Gothic apartment from another era. Not a collection of photography sets, but one cohesive world where every room feels as though it belongs to the same mysterious owner.
Nothing is here simply because it photographs well. The books are real. The antiques have histories. An authentic family Bible dating to 1869 sits among objects that had already lived entire lives before Bohemian Visions existed. Furniture, artwork and collected pieces are chosen deliberately for their character, craftsmanship, history and meaning.
From the library to the floating garden, the copper bath to the courtyard, each environment tells a different part of the same story.
Bohemian Visions doesn’t recreate the past. It photographs you among pieces of it.
And when you walk through the doors, for a little while, the apartment belongs to you.
