BRIDAL BOUDOIR RICHMOND VA | LUXURY PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE

CELEBRATE THE WOMAN BEHIND THE BRIDE

Your wedding celebrates the love you share. Your bridal boudoir experience celebrates you. This is your opportunity to step away from the planning, slow everything down, and preserve the woman you are during one of the most meaningful chapters of your life. Whether you are creating a wedding gift for your partner or doing this entirely for yourself, your luxury bridal boudoir session is designed to feel personal, intentional, and unmistakably you.

Your Bridal Era, Your Way

Your wedding has a guest list, a timeline, a seating plan, and countless decisions made with other people in mind. Even if you are loving every moment of the planning, very little of it begins with the question of what you want.

Your bridal boudoir session is the exception. Inside a private Richmond studio filled with old-world romance and Southern Gothic character, we begin with your taste, your story, and the details that make you unmistakably yourself. There is no expectation to resemble anyone else’s idea of a bride.

Something Old, Before “I Do”

Wedding season can become a world of timelines, fittings, guest lists, vendors and expectations. Bridal boudoir at Bohemian Visions gives you somewhere entirely different to go before you enter the next chapter.

Inside a historic Richmond building dating to 1900, you step into a Southern Gothic collector’s apartment filled with books, antiques, art and objects that already had stories long before your wedding existed. Among them is an authentic family Bible dated 1869, older than the building itself. Nothing here was chosen simply to fill a room. Every detail carries texture, character or history.

There is something fitting about creating bridal portraits surrounded by pieces that have already survived generations. These images are more than a gift for the person you are marrying. They become commissioned art documenting the woman who walked into the marriage: who she was, how she saw herself and the version of her life that existed immediately before “I do.”

A Boudoir Gift For Your Partner

More Than a Wedding Gift

You may have imagined giving your partner a handcrafted album, watching them turn the pages and discover a side of you they know intimately but have never seen quite like this. The anticipation is part of the pleasure. It is an intimate gift precisely because it could only come from you.

Yet the most meaningful part may happen before that album is ever wrapped. While so much of your wedding involves considering what everyone else will experience, this session allows you to enjoy something created around your own desires. You can be romantic, daring, playful, or quietly sensual without having to explain yourself. The photographs become more than a gift for your partner. They become a record of a side of yourself you chose to celebrate.

Make It Yours

Your wedding veil might be the one piece you know you want photographed. Or you might reach for a silk slip, a tailored jacket, or jewelry that carries its own history. Your wardrobe can be as understated or as expressive as you like, and we’ll use those choices to shape the atmosphere of your portraits.

You don’t have to perform a particular version of sensuality. A photograph can be intimate without revealing everything, dramatic without feeling theatrical, and confident without demanding attention. What matters is that you recognize yourself in the finished work.

From Bridal Portraits to Heirloom Art

During your same-day reveal, you’ll see the photographs we’ve created and select the images that speak to you most. You might choose an album to share with your partner, artwork displayed privately in your home, or a collection reserved entirely for yourself.

Years from now, those portraits will hold details that wedding photographs cannot: your anticipation, your individuality, and the particular way you carried yourself at the beginning of this chapter. They will remind you not simply of the marriage you were entering, but of the woman who entered it.

Before You Become the Bride, Celebrate the Woman

Your wedding photographs will tell the story of the day you said “I do.” Your bridal boudoir portraits tell another part of that story: who you are before the ceremony begins, with your own history, desires, accomplishments, and sense of self.

You don’t need to become a different woman for the camera. This is an opportunity to see the one you’ve already become, interpreted through art and preserved on your terms.

Come as you are. Leave as art.

Bridal Boudoir in Richmond: Your Questions, Answered

Plan your session approximately three to four months before your wedding. This gives you time to enjoy the experience without the pressure of the final weeks, and leaves room for your made-to-order album, which takes four to six weeks to create, to arrive well before the wedding day. Popular wedding season dates book quickly, so reaching out five to six months ahead gives you the best choice of dates.

Your session is personally photographed and directed by Marie Malvoisin, a Certified Professional Photographer, U.S. Army veteran, and founder of Bohemian Visions Studio & Gallery. From your initial consultation through your portrait reveal, Marie guides the creative experience.

Bohemian Visions Studio & Gallery is located at 1305 W. Main St, Richmond, VA 23220. We welcome brides traveling from Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and throughout the surrounding region for a private bridal boudoir experience.
